World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players increase an item's gear rating up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus can sometimes be greater than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of the base. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them useless unless you get a fortunate roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to improve their stats. In item upgrader of a helm or chest, it will boost its defense base while a belt and gloves will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will be hit 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you can gain from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving the protection needed to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it for physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have some improvements to the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them using a craft table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. item upgrades can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you make use of it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were a few changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display. The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions' effect is extended by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential such as a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is used to show affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. One can upgrade a trinket for as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as old one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once the old ones are no longer needed which allows a player to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general, players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that won't replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players must also consider the class's preferred stats. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed in the event that it is not salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
