WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with a button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Another significant change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them properly. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
